Fix the System with Oxfam
This Glastonbury and beyond, help us to make sure everyone always has enough to eat.
The System’s bust.
Everything Akiru (pictured) has to eat today can be held in the palm of her hands. Rising food prices, climate change and complacent world leaders are letting her and everyone down. Around the world, this means nearly one billion people don’t have enough to eat. You can help to fix this at festivals this year. Here’s how.
Get your hands dirty to fix the system.
Find one of our friendly system-fixing campaigners and see how they can help you get your hands dirty. Chat about the weather, your favourite festival moment – and how you can roll up your sleeves and help to fix the system.
Show your support for change with painted hands and check out more activities in the Oxfam tent where you can really get your hands dirty.
Get your fashion fix.
Get your fashion fix from the Oxfam festival shop. It’s the place for all your festival must-haves, from vintage fashion to wedding dresses, and from sun hats to wellies. Top quality fashion and essentials and a chance to customise your festival fashion look all under one roof. All the money raised will help to support Oxfam’s work with communities worldwide.
Smile at a festival-fixer.
More than 2,000 incredible Oxfam volunteers work as festival stewards each summer at Glastonbury. They’re the people checking tickets, giving directions and generally making sure everyone is safe and happy. In return, festivals including Glastonbury make a donation to our work – last year, they raised nearly £1 million. So give our stewards a smile and a wave – and get involved in 2012.
Help us fix the system this summer – and create a world where everyone has enough to eat.
