Just over the old railway track on the left as you head towards the stone circle, this field promotes Ecotainment and hosts a 100% dedicated solar stage where there will be music all weekend
A host of natural resources are on display in the field, from Wind And Sun, who explore the possibilities of natural power and alternatives to nuclear energy, The Solar Energy Alliance who can offer professional solar power advice with gadgets to see, demonstrations to watch and brains to pick.
Next to Croissant Neuf venue is Fayre’s Fair Cafe, run by voluntary Steiner parents who provide organic and fair-trade meals. There is also a bandstand with performances when the main stage isn’t being used, People’s Front Room, a mini venue with open slots for passers by and a Central Garden Feature, a place to sit and absorb the ambience.
The field also hosts a number of exhibitors including the giant mushrooms of On the Verge Woodcarvers from Taunton, highly trained herbalists Sensory Solutions and Ecomotive, who offer detail of sustainable building. There are also various market stalls including Hempcat’s clothing and accessories made entirely from Hemp, the handmade hats of Felt like a hat, Big Bang Bazaar’s 100% recycled clothing and locally made trinkets and treasures from Fairy Glass.
The field also boasts stilt walkers, fire shows, comedy acts, circus acts, magicians, wandering minstrels, Cwm Juggling who offer the chance to learn circus skills plus body art from Painted By Pixies, Art Caravan’s press cuttings from bygone years, Chaos Works’ Modern Art Gallery and Moore & Moore Postcards where you can post a postcard to your friends and family.
