The NYC Downlow – “Welcome back to 1989”

It's the Downlow's 5th Birthday this year and the trannys are celebrating in style with outrageous live shows and alt. cabaret alongside some truly, truly exceptional DJ talent.

Highlights at The NYC Downlow include:

Thursday: Queen of East London, Hannah Holland (Batty Bass) warms up the weekend alongside San Francisco’s Tee Cardaci (Botafogo Social Club) and Downlow “house mother” Ninebob (www.thedownlowradio.com).

Friday: James Hillard (Horse Meat Disco) and Dan Beaumont (Disco Bloodbath) rock The Downlow to its knees.

Saturday: Paris’ undisputed hero of vintage house Brawther (My Love Is Underground) and Rob Mello (Classic Records) dropping killer vinyl cuts in The Downlow sweatbox. Andy Blake (Dissident Records) follows up with deep, dark early Acid House.

Sunday: All the way from Chicago, Joshua Iz (Iz and Diz / Prescription Records) playing the finest, deepest, vintage house. The Downlow’s very own disco connoisseur Luke Howard (Horse Meat Disco) proves once again he has the finest record collection known to man.

As always, watch out for lip-syncing and live cabaret shows from Jonny Woo, Scottee and friends and remember: No Moustache – No Entry! (Moustaches are available at the ‘porn kiosk’).
